Account & Data Deletion Policy

At BookYourSnap, we respect your privacy and provide you with full autonomy over your personal data. In compliance with Google Play Store User Data Policies, this document outlines how users can permanently delete their account and associated data, what data categories are deleted, what data is retained for legal compliance, and the processing timelines.

1. How to Delete Your Account (In-App Self-Service)

If you have the BookYourSnap mobile app installed on your Android/iOS device or are logged in on the web, you can delete your account instantly:

Step 1: Open BookYourSnap

Open the BookYourSnap mobile application or visit bookyoursnap.com.

Step 2: Navigate to Profile Settings

Tap the Profile tab on the navigation bar, then tap on Settings (or the gear icon).

Step 3: Select Delete Account

Scroll down to the Danger Zone section and click on Delete Account.

Step 4: Confirm Deletion

Review the warning prompt and confirm. Your account, authentication credentials, and personal profile data will be permanently deleted immediately.

2. Request Deletion via Web or Email (Alternative Method)

If you have uninstalled the app, cannot log in, or prefer to request deletion remotely, you can send an email directly to our Data Protection Support team:

Include in Body: Your Full Name, Registered Email Address, and Registered Phone Number.

3. Data Categories That Will Be Deleted

Upon account deletion confirmation, the following personal data categories will be permanently removed from our active databases:

Profile Identification: Full Name, Email Address, Phone Number, Profile Photo/Avatar, and Bio.
Authentication Records: Firebase Auth credentials, OAuth connections, security tokens, and active sessions.
User Preferences: Saved/Wishlisted photographers, search preferences, and settings.
Chat Messages & Media: Direct in-app messages, images, and media attachments between clients and photographers.
Device Identifiers: Push notification tokens (FCM), device metadata, and notification logs.

4. Data Retained & Retention Period (Legal & Tax Compliance)

Under applicable statutory laws in India, certain financial records cannot be immediately purged upon account deletion:

Financial & Payment Transaction Invoices: Payment gateway transaction IDs (Razorpay/Stripe), payment amounts, and GST tax invoices are retained for 7 years in compliance with statutory Indian accounting, auditing, and tax regulations.
Active Disputes / Chargebacks: If a booking dispute or unresolved refund claim is ongoing at the time of deletion, relevant transaction logs are retained until the dispute is resolved.

Note: Retained financial logs are strictly archived for statutory compliance and auditing, and are never used for commercial or marketing profiling.

5. Deletion Timeline

In-App Self-Service Deletion: Instant and immediate upon user confirmation.
Email / Web Form Requests: Verified, processed, and confirmed within 30 days of receipt.
